Which would mean what exactly?
Just to show the full URL of it that way people aren't tricked into thinking it's to another link?

It's easier to copy and paste the code from site to where ever you want to paste it without accidental clicks and so on.

There is another reason but it only applies to Warez sites...so i'll shut my mouth about that.

No, the modification we use on vBulletin.org is not released for public as it is very specific to the needs of our site.
