I downloaded the who's online mod and it's not working like I thought. Currently, if a user logs in, they DO show on the who's online screen. However, when they log out OR JUST CLOSE THEIR BROWSER it still shows them viewing their last area. I want it to be where they are showing only if they are actually online at that time. I understand the 15 minute updates for online, but I happen to know the user DonnaW is not online. She was earlier, but is gone now. How can I set it up so when she closes her browser, it does not show her name? Image attached.

If the user log's out correctly, they will instantly disappear from the who's online info, if you want the who's online to refresh faster, change the refresh time thru the admincp or manual refresh the page yourself.

As to user's "just closing the browser" and not logging out properly, they will show until the time out of your cookie session is reached, by default its 900s, you would need a custom modification to try to achive what you want when the user don't log out correctly or lower the cookie timeout thru the admincp.

Okay, so if I change the cookie session, it will actually cause them to have to log back in when they re-visit, correct?

No

Do NOT set the cookie session time to 0 as no one will be able to login.

As long as the user is using the remember me tic box and not logging out, they will automatically be remembered when they return.

Session Timeout
This is the time in seconds that a user must remain inactive before their login session expires. This setting also controls how long a user will remain on Who's Online after their last activity.

Unless, of course, they clean their temp files on their computer.

Unless, of course, they clean their temp files on their computer.

lmfao, most end users can't even do that when you tell them to after they have login issues... :)
