I used the manual - I followed the instructions:

Backed up DB
Backed up files
Changed config.php for new site info
Uploaded files to new host
Uploaded DB via SSH

Now, after 3 hours, I'm stuck with a number of issues. Maybe someone has some insight on some of these?

I can't log into the admin CP - I get the login screen, the thank you, then back ot the login screen.
I can see the forum, view threads, but when I try to view forum listings - I get the following error: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /*path*/forumdisplay.php on line 983
Not unlike #1, above, I can't log into the frontend of the forum either - with any username or password.

I'm not sure what I did wrong. I even repeated the backup/upload/import process 4 times with the same results.

I'd be appreciative of any help. I've got to have this forum moved by 10p tomorrow night.

Check this thread for the login problems, I think it's a cookie issue (if I recall correctly): https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=162629&highlight=tools.php (I know I've seen better posts about using tools.php, but I can't find them right now)

For number 2, is line 983 the last line? I remember something like that happening for me before - there was some extra character somehow added. Copy/paste that last line from a 'working' page and see if that fixes the issue.

Please upload tools.php from the 'do_not_upload' folder of your vBulletin distribution to your admincp directory. Now point your browser to admincp/tools.php.

Reset the cookie Domain and Path to the default values.

Once your problem is fixed please remove tools.php again from the server.

If this does not solve your problems, please clear your browser cookies and cache, restart your browser and try again.

If the site is now running on a IP address and not a domain, then make sure you set the site url to the ip, not the domain, once the dns propigates, you can change it back.
