I don't know that this would do anything, but have you done Rebuild Forum Information in your Update Counters?

Repair/Optimized tables?

Have you tried disabling hacks and seen if the forum is reachable? Do you know if you have any hacks that apply a conditional for that forum? Are you getting any error messages in the error_log regarding that forum?
