ChU v2
11-11-2007, 10:00 PM
Winter Snowfall was designed for the holiday season to catch that cold "I want a hot chocolate" feeling. :D The color scheme is dark blue and green.

The main feature of this template is the header. It features a snowfall marquee that is customizable. It looks as though the snowflakes are falling into the snow of the header image. Instructions on how to add more snowflakes are attached in the .zip file.
The template also features custom buttons, statusicons, and a custom footer image.
Files:
The uploaded files include:
(Winter Snowfall.zip)
- XML File
- Images
- Instrustions
(Winter Snowfall PSD.zip)
- Header Logo PSD
- Postbit Button PSD
- Header Buttons PSD (3)

Postbit Button Font (ITC Viner Hand): [download] (http://www.searchfreefonts.com/font/itc-viner-hand.htm)

Very nice! Question: how did you get the snow on the header? Is that via .swf file?
I agree with PEGGY - It's quite elegant style = Thanx for sharing ;)

No, I remembered it from the days of MySpace custom layouts and all it is is html marquee. Very simple to do.

Go to the navbar template and remove this code (to remove ALL buttons):
<!-- Custom Buttons -->

PSD for the header is attached to this post. Download the font, change the text, save it as winter_logo.gif and overwrite it to /forum/images/winter/misc/

Go to your navbar template.
FIND:
<if condition="$show['member']">
<td class="vbmenu_control"><a href="/index.html"><img src="$stylevar[imgdir_misc]/home.gif" height="23" width="100" border="0"></a></td>
</if>
Change:
/index.html
To:

Sometimes vBa is weird and looks for the images in /ROOT/images/SKIN instead of /forum/images/SKIN
So I would upload the images to /ROOT/images/SKIN and the images should appear.

Edit the Winter_logo PSD in photoshop save as winter_logo.gif and upload to the misc folder.

Yes, the images for the navbar buttons are included in the PSD folder. You can edit them to whatever you want. You would have to go into your navbar template at the top and change the code accordingly. It's not hard just edit the image paths.

Yea I know but the images that are included have a star either to the left,right or center. I need the one without the star like the center links are.

Attached are more images to use for links, I change the font to a cleaner one and added a thanks button.

IF you are using vb Advanced you will need to put the full url to the images.
Go to your style and click All options.
For Button Images Folder I have
http://www.localracechat.com/forums/images/winter/buttons
You will need to do this with all the links even even Background,Category Strips,etc..
Body = #E1E1E2 url(http://www.localracechat.com/forums/images/winter/misc/body.gif) repeat
Here is my site where I have set this style up.

where you forum folder is, create a folder called images and copy the winter folder in there. Or you can edit all the template manually like RaceJunkie said.

Thnks
Open the header template and find this:
<if condition="$show['member']">
<td class="vbmenu_control"><a href="/forum"><img src="$stylevar[imgdir_misc]/forum.gif" height="23" width="100" border="0"></a></td>
</if>
change the address in the link, where it says "/forum", to the address for your forums.

Ditto. I was looking for a style that had more to do with winter than with Christmas. I was surprised at how few of them I found. Most of them have at the very least a decorated Christmas tree.
