Do any of you guys use some mod for embeding YOUTUBE into your posts? or do you thin its better to just link out to youtube?
What are the pros and cons?
What mod are you using for it as I dont currently use one

I use custom BB codes to link to youtube, don't want raw HTML in posts.
The only con I can think of is that it may make the page load REAL slow if there are several videos on it at once.

<font color="darkgreen">There are allot of issues with embeding youtube code in your posts.
If youtube is down then your player wont load/play.
If youtube removes a post for whatever reason, like copyright or offensive, then your player post is broken
Youtube has that stupid mouseover scrolling "browse" to play other videos.
Youtube can direct traffic away from your site if they double click the player.
If Youtube is slow then the video will take forever to load and/or play.
You dont get to "review" the video first unless you send all posts with the bb tag to the moderation quyeue.
Depending on your bb code tag replacement code, you may be subject to scripting attacks.
Bottom line is that ther is nothing like hosting videos on your site yourself.</font>

1. Youtube will never go down.
2. It's not broken, it just displays a message.
3. True.
4. Definitely true. (It's one click by the way. :()
5. I don't think Youtube would be slow...
6. I'm not sure about this one.
7. Not very likely.
But, hey! If you have embed Youtube on your site, you'll keep more visitors unlike the plain URL post! :p

Actually, recently YT installed their own copyright software that is now preventing the posting of copyrighted content when compared to the studios submitted works. This update actually caused issues with response times, playability of even valid links, and for a short period was down as I couldnt even bring up their main site. Sure its not everyday that they do an ugrade like this but just dont be fooled into a flase sense of "reliability" by them. When you place things in control of an external site you are at their mercy and rules/regulations/issues. etc.
Scripting attacks are easy to do on bb code tags. For security and responsibility I wont go into details but just a bit of info, there is absolutely no validation that what is being linked to. ;)
