Things on the Forum not working

There are a couple of things that are not working right on the forum.

1) When I send a message to myself, the popup box no longer appears when I receive a new message. It used to work then at some point it stopped working. I have the option "yes" selected on the Vboptions>> Private Message Options>> "Selecting 'Yes' for this option will cause the system to check the private message database every time a user loads a page, and will display a visible prompt if a new message has just been saved."

2) When I press the post message button when making a post on the forum, the screen goes white and it sort of "locks" up and sometimes I have to refresh the browser before the message goes on. The forum also never used to have this problem, I don't know why things on the forum are slowly falling apart or how to fix them.

I would appreciate it if someone could help me out here.

Go on a test account and send it a PM and see what happens. If you are going to your own profile and sending yourself a PM it won't do a pop up because after sending a PM it redirects you to the private.php page, so a pop up wouldn't come up since you are already on the page. But try it on a test account to be on the safe side.

What browser are you using? Sometimes it happens to me on Firefox and usually the site is very busy at the time. Is that the case for you?

Thanks for the help, I guess it was just on different users it works. My forum isn't busy at all so I'm surprised, this has happened a few times before, but I only get about 15 visitors a day and maybe a login or two.
