Show New Private Message Notification Pop-up (Not Working)

I've checked the box to allow new PM pop-ups but all I receive is the flashing notification at the upper righthand corner. It has been like that for a while now. All of my other sites, including vB.com, works fine. Is anyone else experiencing this problem too?

As far as I am aware, popup notification hasn't worked here for me for a long while...

But it has never really bothered me :p

I think it worked for me just once this past year after I unchecked then rechecked the option. I'd like to have that feature back if possible. :)

The "popup" is actually the bar you see under the navbar.

Lol, maybe a better suggestion would be to change the wording of the option?

I've been accustomed to the small pop-up window smacked in the middle of the screen; vB's default pop-up notification. It says, "SURPRISE!" Right now when I get a new PM it says, "Oh by the way..." I prefer the former. :)
