How long to get reindexed with search engines?

I recently uninstalled seo on our forums and I'm wondering how long it typically takes to get reindexed with search engines? I know it's dependent on a lot of factors, but would 4-6 months be a reasonable time frame to expect to see some improvements for PR and such?

Yes 4-6 months is about right. The best thing u can do is submit a sitemap to the search engines.

I don't have sitemaps but I am assuming it's a good idea to go ahead and make one for each of my sites. Can you point me in the right direction? Is this something I would just make on my own or is there an easy way to go about doing them?
