We have a yellow lab named Yogi Bear (Yogi for short)
He's still a puppy so we're having fun with all those puppy things like chewing everything in sight  :D He is a GREAT dog though, aside from normal puppy stuff. He's amazing with the kids and always aims to please. He's been very easy to train, now we just have to get the chewing under control ;)
I thought it would be fun to post pics of your pets if you have them, or at least tell us what kinds you have and their names :)

Oh. My. Gosh. They are sooooooooo adorable. I am not a huge fan of cats, EXCEPT when they are the big, fat, lazy kinds. I LOVE a kitty that is big and fluffy and wants to cuddle. They are huge but they are so cute. Milo looks very sweet.

Thanks! I'm more of a cat person, but I love dogs, too. Oh, Milo's big, fat, fluffy, and lazy, all right!:D Except cuddling isn't his thing...drooling is...*sigh*...pretty disgusting. But he only does that when he's happy. OH, and he IS sweet.
Reinhardt is the best cuddler...he's also the baby.:)

Here are some older thumbnail pictures of our animals. I'll have to see if my wife as newer ones. One of our animals is missing. The one missing is Doc Holliday and is a cat that showed up on our doorstep between Thanksgiving and Christmas last year and he moved with us in May. He kind of looks like Milo above.
The ones shown in order are Baldur, Sonic (after the hedgehog), Squirtle, Gypsy, Mnementh (after the dragon in the Pern Series), Turtle, and Pepper. The dog and cats are all rescues.

Yeah.. My wife works at a place called DELTA Rescue (http://www.deltarescue.tv/deltarescue/index.php). DELTA stands for Dedication and Everlasting Love To Animals. They have over 1500 dogs and cats on their properties here in Southern California. Couple close calls so far with fires but all is good there so far. My wife is a vet tech there and medicates and provides dietary supplements to 100 cats and provides physical therapy to 25 disabled dogs each day.
We're also trying to adopt a leopard or tiger from the Exotic Feline Breeding Compound (http://www.cathouse-fcc.org/)nearby but they wouldn't let us bring the animal home, we would just pay for the upkeep.

When I got the reply email I first thought it was from deezelpope... (because I usually skip the name has just replied part)- then I clicked on the link to come here and was puzzled - and surprised. (since it doesn't say the name after the * in the reply; * goes thru the pictures) - now I think I might be disappointed...
Marco, If these pictures can compete with Danny's I'll be ok...
Meanwhile I've got two projects - two new photos - and I've got several cats of my own I'm going to look for later - photos of them. I won't even get into the cat I threw away once - took me 2 minutes to realize she was in a garbage bag outside before I rescued her. After those cats, we never had cats in the house again... until...
The mousesnatcher...

These new pix...well, they're just TOO much!! The Mouse Snatcher!! Just look at that face! You can see how sassy she is!:D My favorite is the second shot, where ALL you can see is her tiny paw, grabbing onto the scroller wheel!https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2007/11/26.gif

I know this is supposed to be about Pets, however, I couldn't resist posting this. This is our newest pet that wandered onto our property... he didn't stick around too long because the Dogs chased him away lol.... He is about 150 yards away from our back yard in these pictures walking along the fence line of one of our horse pastures... (for those that don't know what it is, its a fairly large Montana Black Bear)

Oh, I can just imagine...I believe it. All my cats each have their bizarre little idiosyncrasies about them...the one in the pic on top of the fridge, he likes broccoli and black olives, and that's just scratching the surface. Cats are weird.

Hopefully people around the area aren't feeding him, either on purpose or inadvertently. Wouldn't want a welfare bear and it having to be shot eventually.

No, but I am afraid that one of the neighbors might hunt him. He has a bear tag and I won't be surprised to see him go after it :( Its a harmless black bear.

ROFL! That's really funny! Oh yes, my Reinhardt (fridge cat) loves popcorn, too...anything crunchy, in fact...Golden Grahams cereal, pizza crusts, dinner rolls, etc. My female cat, Jazzy, likes peach yogurt...I thought cats didn't like fruit? OH, and she absolutely HATES her own tail...she does this really bizarre thing where she'll chase it in circles, crying LOUD (she normally doesn't talk at all), until she catches it, then she bites it...really funny to see and especially to hear.

Wayne Luke
11-19-2007, 06:14 PM
Some cats are just big... two of ours are average about 10 pounds.. We have a little Calico Siamese who weighs about 6 pounds. Then we have Holiday (showed up on our doorstep 3 days before Christmas last year) and he weighs about 14 pounds.
I want to get a Maine Coon one day that would be able 20 pounds or more but would have to let my wife get a beagle dog and am not a fan of small dogs. There is a place in Northern California called "Isis Oasis" where they have some cats that are mixes between Maine Coons and Jungle Cats. They weigh about 30 pounds and have paws about 3-4 inches in diameter.

OH, yes, Wayne...I've always wanted a Maine Coon...they're HUGE!
Ish...I don't much care for small dogs either...had a Maltese once...yippy things.
Ok, question...you mention a Jungle Cat. Is that a domestic breed or like a real, wild jungle cat? I'd love a cat that big...if it was a good cuddler!:D
Wayne Luke
11-19-2007, 08:52 PM
Jungle cats are not domesticated.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jungle_cat
However the cats that were able to roam the Isis Oasis compound freely were very even tempered and not aggressive or feral. The compound has the Cervals, Ocelots and feral Jungle Cats contained. Why they have cross-breeds with domesticated cats, I don't know. I don't think it was on purpose though because they would lose their exotic feline breeding permit.

Ooooh, thanks for linking me.:D
I perused that page and noticed Jungle cats aren't native to this country. Kinda seems to me they were imported and cross-bred intentionally. I'm not saying the Isis Oasis did this intentionally...I'm saying somewhere, someone over the years brought them here for that purpose...*shakes head in dismay*

Could be.. About 15 miles from my house is an Exotic Feline Breeding Compound where they breed jaguars, leopards, pallas cats, cervals, tigers along with other endangered cats. They receive animals from zoos all over the world for their breeding program. Now they wouldn't do this but they have a drug-addicted tiger there. The tiger is a rescue sent there by the DEA. It was recovered in a drug-bust and his previous owner kept him doped up on heroin to keep him docile. They can never breed him in the breeding program because they don't know his genealogy but they can give him a home.

This is my Maremma Sheepdog puppy. She is 5 months old, and quite frankly a little chit. She chews anything in her way. The furniture, your shoes and you! Since she is teething at the moment, you can guarantee everytime you see her she is chewing something. Because she's so cute, she gets away with murder! She knows when she has done something wrong, and as soon as she notices us, she goes into her 'sad' pose. But really, she's thinking "Haha, you can't bring yourself to tell me off! I'm SO CUTE!" and that's exactly what happens!
Her name is Lilly.

Ok so here are my pets and the story.
So on Christmas Eve I was watching a movie and I kept hearing this meowing out my back door, I looked and was like oh nice, a cat. Well he was all cold and it was snowing here in Colorado, so with the furnace on, I opened my back door and left it open for like an hour while the movie finished, since I couldn't get out there and pick him up as he ran from me.
Well after leaving the door open I then shut it and went to bed. The next morning under my loveseat i noticed this gray cat hiding there, and I was like "oh hello there". So I had decided if he/she comes in, I'll keep them and he did. Later finding out it was a boy.
Here he is and I named him The Joker, or Joker from my favorite villain of all time.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v318/scorpion_666/TheJoker.jpg
Then a few months later a new woman moved into the complex that I live at, meeting her the night she moved in, shook her hand, and left it at that. A few weeks later I got a knock on my door from her and two of her friends, and they asked if I wanted to hang out with them.
One thing led to another as it usually does and she is now my girlfriend, her name is Diana. Well she was asked to watch a cat for awhile, and she told me the cats name was Magneto, and I was like cool, I love the Xmen. Well after dating for awhile it came to the point that she works more hours than me and therefore wasn't home enough and didn't think she was giving the cat enough love/time/effort, etc.
She wanted to give him up, I had issues with this because I felt the strange coincidence of having two cats that look very alike, and who both share names of FAMOUS VILLAINS! lolz. So I was like, we can't get rid of him, if we get married we'll always remember that cat we gave up, kind of like adoption. So I was like after a week of arguing with myself, I said I'll keep him, and not to give him away. That way she can still see him all the time, and if it doesn't work out, I still have another cool cat that looks like my other cat.
So here is my other pet, Magneto, and hopefully you didn't hate my short story:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v318/scorpion_666/Magneto.jpg
(( caught them both by the door like 10 mins ago. Magneto is wild and crazy, Joker is lazy and calm, they are like opposites it's so cute. ))
