I want to change the color of the link 'private messages' in the navbar to be different to that of the other links. I know how to change the css, i just cant find the template to edit it.

<phrase 1="$vbphrase[unread_x_nav_compiled]" 2="$vbphrase[total_x_nav_compiled]" 3="$session[sessionurl_q]">$vbphrase[private_messages_nav]</phrase></if><if condition="$show['pmwarning']"><br /><strong><phrase 1="$vbphrase[pmpercent_nav_compiled]">$vbphrase[your_pm_box_is_x_full]</phrase></strong></if></div>

As you can see the private messages link is red on a red background

The location may depend on the style you're using but generally where you edit is after <!-- breadcrumb, login, pm info --> in the navbar template (Navigation / Breadcrumb Templates group).

This is the template i searched before posting for support. The link is within a variable.

Then I'd look in vbphrase and add the CSS there.

Well that is not a good idea, as this will change the link properties for all templates.

Freesteyelz appreciate you trying to help me, but hopefully someone who has also had this problem and knows the correct answer will be able to support me.

There must be a way to change this link via the template system

Sorry I couldn't help. I've resolved this problem with the above suggestions before but it is possible that what you want to do cannot be applied the same ways. I hope everything works out for you. :)
