You have a Moderator that's gone weird on you? And you can't demote him back to just a Registered User? Maybe while you are working out this problem you can use the access masks and make it so he can't even see the forums?

if this is the case then while u solving your problem and if u r the only one who has access to the ftp rename the admincp and modcp folders to something else so he cant log in there and do damage.
Also only userid`s u specify in config.php file are unalterable so does this user have access to the ftp ??

The file is includes/config.php and the line you need to look for is
$config['SpecialUsers']['undeletableusers'] = '';

I'm not receiving any in my e-mail...not sure why. I can't believe this is happening...can you help me, please?:( I'll give you any access you need.
Everywhere on my site it's saying the database has encountered a problem.

When you edited your config.php file, did you make a backup of it first? It sounds like you messed up your mysql user/password information or other database information, like changing mysql to mysqli or something in the config file.

But all I changed was a number...if I went back and changed it back, shouldn't it still work...and yes, the username and password has changed...how can I resolve it?
I haven't changed anything else.

post the info you changed exactly from your config.php; we'll let you know what it should be. you also might have left of a quotation mark. :)

Make sure your mysql username and mysql password are correct in the config file. If you don't know what these are supposed to be, check with your host.
If you're sure that the only thing you changed in the file is the undeletable user, then maybe the file didn't get uploaded correctly. Try re-uploading it.

<i>Ok, question: In the FTP there's the config.php and a config.bak...should they both be in there?</i>

Ok, question: In the FTP there's the config.php and a config.bak...should they both be in there?
config.bak won't do anything and won't hurt anything. and it just might save you if something's messed up in config.php. If you trust me (since they contain sensitive info), send me both in a PM and I'll see if I can identify what the problem is.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean...you want both the config.php and config.bak?

Now I'm getting this error...bizarre.
Database error in vBulletin :mysql_connect(): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (46)/community/includes/class_core.php on line 273

Where did you exactly add the "1"....also JFYI a .bak file can be downloaded directly from your server so you may want to remove it.....

Right. I've edited the config.php numerous times and only put my user number in there. Yet there are still others I cannot moderate.
And yes, admin gone weird on me.
Edit : I password protected the DIR's from the host panel
post your config.php file... or just upload a new default one form the vB install package. or if all else fails and you still can't figure it out, upload and overwright all files with the default ones disable any hacks and plugins, then get tech support from vB.com. or get someone else you trust that knows their stuff to go into your FTP and figure it out. there are soo many ways to get help.
