Plugin and Styles?

Hi all... I've been running vB for many years now, but due to OS issues, I could never have the plugin system turned on... I'm in the progress of upgrading to 3.6.8 on a brand new server. And I want to add some plugs for my users.

I'm trying to give the forum a new look... and one thing I noticed right away, is that the plugin enhancments don't seem to work with anything but the default template. Is there some magic to make them both work together, or will I have to manually edit the template?

For example, the FlashChat integration plugin puts a "Chat" link on the menu... with any template other than the default, the menu item is not there.

Some modifications will try to automagically change your templates on runtime. This is done by searching for a text and replacing it.

If your custom style has been changed so much from the default that the text searched for does not exist, then this trick will ofcourse not work. The only solutions would then be to manually edit your templates.

ok... so is there a way to search for skins that will work fine with mods? I've tried a few and none worked. The one I found that said it does work fine with mods I didn't like.
