Something we have a need for on our forum and I've been unable to find is a way to highlight the portion of a post that is made in a moderator/admin capacity.

Ideally, it would be an icon that could be clicked while crafting a post that would wrap a segment of text with "mod tags". That segment would highlight, perhaps in red, and say something to the effect that the text contained is being posted in an official capacity.

The reason is that we have a lot of mods and 4 admin who are also members and contribute to the forum with their personal opinions. Sometimes they offer their opinion and then post something official in the same post. Having an easy way for other members to differentiate between a mod's opinion and something posted in official capacity would be very helpful.

Does this already exist and I have somehow missed it?

The first idea that I had based on your comments would be to come up with a bit of coding for a custom BB tag, base it on a normal table format, add the title "Moderator Comments" (or other variation which makes it apparent what it is) then you're all set. And then, all it would take is for your staff to use the BB tags wherever appropriate.

If you need any more help with constructing the html for the BB tag, just post back in here.

P.S. - I'm sure there are other options available but this - to me - seems like a pretty easy choice and it isn't all that complicated either.

Thanks Lucky Seven, that's very close to what I had in mind. Any idea how I can make this BB code only available to mods and admin?

I installed the bbCode Permissions mod and along with your suggestions of a customm bb code I have achieved exactly what I'd hoped for :)

Thanks for your help Lucky Seven!
