How do I add a border to my avatars?

I know how to just make show up, and I can edit the thickness of it, but I cannot seem to change the color.

What I really want to do is make one like this (http://forum.teamxbox.com/showpost.php?p=904566&postcount=1). That has a smaller black border on the outside and a bigger white one on the inside.

Mine will be blue and gray (not that that really matters)... so, can you please help? Thanks!

You can do it right in the postbit template. In the img tag for the avatar, remove the border="0" and then add style="border:5px solid #FF0000" for a 5 pixel wide, solid red border. Change the CSS (http://www.w3schools.com/css/css_border.asp) to suit.
