FAQ:
What Does It Do? it enables your members to apply to be a mod, cuts down on all the asking and stuff

That It? basically

What about the cool back end? ooh yeah, so anyway it will email on the 14th day to either let em know they've been shortlisted or to try again at a later date

How will it know? mod ratings innit, if their under 7 their outta there

Anything else? nah i guess it starts a thread in your mod forum to tell your mods to rate em

How does it know what forum and who's the threadster? you tell em via the admincp options (where the rest of the vboptions are) theirs a handy little group for the MAF and i don't mean 2+2

Ok so that's gotta be it now? nope

What else does it do? it logs it all in the admincp schedules tasks and sends you a copy of the email

Damn who taught you all that? various folks, special thanks to Dean, Marco, OBK and Zero Tolerance who helped me on this specific hack though.

Ok so what's the install like? swift the long thing is the upload

Ok rumour is it needs to run a cron, what's a cron? :squint: it's the automated do-dad in the admincp

How do i set it up? it's so straight forward you could close your eyes and do it, the file you're cronning is called "mas-cron.php" and i recommend running it at 12.30 (that means leave the rest as stars)

Ok so if their an installer? there is indeed, a quick dirty one. no not like that ;)

oops, you'll have to replace the mas_rateapp.php in order to get rid of that error. in fact most of the fixes require file replacements. you also have to replace modapp.php in your forums directory. i'll update the upgrade instructions to specify that

I'm not really sure what you're asking, a thread is made in the specified forum to let the mods know there's a thread waiting to be rated.

I dig it..BUT...registered users still can see the post..and then get curious and want to rate also..alot of people like to rate for members too!..and I figure it would be fun for them to help rate users along with us. And the email that i mentioned...is when someone applies it can either alert of via pm or email that someone filled out the app. Suppose we aren't logged on to see the board..but get email alerts etc etc.

now i get you. i would suggest sending it to a staff forum as yoyoyoyo suggested. feel free to post suggestions for a future version. i'm not sure when i'll get time to implement them. but nonetheless.

check your quick links menu. a link is automatically added there via the template hooks. if you still can't find it there, then make sure that your skin is 3.6.8 compliant.

I am interested in allowing current mods, (and admins) to view the reviews, like a few others here. I've searched around the templates, but can't figure out which template needs to be updated.

I can't get mine to send out the emails to the applicants.

I have it set to email applicants after 14 days if they have an average rating of over 7.

I have an applicant with a average rating of 10 who applied 15 days ago, and it hasn't emailed her. I just manually ran the cron again, and it just says
Moderation Application Auto Proccessing Complete; Declination's: None. Shortlistings: None. New Applications: None.

It should have one "shortlisting", because the applicant meets the criteria of the cron, so why didn't it send her an email?

I wont be rating the apps, they will be voted upon my all members. I dissected your hack, and am able to make it just the way I need it to be, however...I wish someone could help me to get the app to show in a Thread & not the " New App needs Rated" after they hit submit.

Hi there is a fatal error in your mass_cron.php it spams moderator applicants with mails if they got less then 7 points and the application is older then 14 days.

Mod works great but I have a few questions:

1- I can see all my mods rating of the applicant but no comments are there (additional comments) Why?

2- After a certain number of days, how is the process works? I mean to approve the application... Is it gonna send an email and to who exactly? Also, if the application is approved (by having like a rating of four people with an "8" for rates) what happen exactly? The applicant get an email? What about the admin? What's next after? Do we still have to manually change the usergroup of the approved applicant?

This is kind of confusing for me as nothing clearly explain the approval process...

Make sure to delete the exact username. Any spaces/bad characters will give you a db error.

This mod looks very nice. After installing it, I have several questions.

Where are the docs? I had to search to find out there is a phrase I need to edit to change the primary text for the application.
In the phrase, I see {1} & {2}. I found that {1} brings up the site name, but what is {2} for?
I do not want my moderators to be involved in this, how do I remove the link from the ModCP?
If I remove the link, how do I still allow Super Moderators to rate the applications?

FTP - first download it from the modCP.

Then delete the file from the modCP (The link will still show to the mods in their CP) but they will receive an error message when they click on the link.

Although from install it still leaves a drop down box in modCP with reference to it, there is no clickable link for them to see anything. Someone will have to tell us how to remove that.

Then upload it to the adminCP

I also removed any ratings because this is not needed for me, just a remarks area if needed.

As I said I am using it just to keep the applicants record.

Ok this mod really needs a delete application button. Im getting lost to the current and non current applicants in the CP, theres s a huge list and its getting cluttered. This really neds a delete application or some ort fo way to seperate applications that have been approved and denied, like a thign where it goes like this..

It would be nice if admins had the ability to add to a old applicant list to seperate from old and new applications. So you can review over an old one if you want.
