Ok what do you all do to help save server space? Like are there setting like no e-mail notifications, having the subscribed threads so away after awhile etc.

Assuming you do mean bandwidth and not server space, then I imagine most people do nothing at all. Any decent host gives you so much it's just not an issue.

What is actually using your space the most?
Try to set restrictions on attachments, PM space, sigs and custom avatars by custom usergroups.
Install Miserable Users (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=121886) for your worst spammers/postwhores, mebbe? ;) :D
