Powerful AJAX-based ChatBox for vBulletin.

1. Import XML file (as product): AdminCP > Plugin System > Manage Products > [Add/Import Product]
2. OPTIONAL (custom placement on forum page)
Open desired template and put "$cybchatbox" to desired line.

Colour issue. Posting in color works fine until next chat message. Then color tags are displayed.

and if your taking suggestions it would be really awesome if we had more smile control. all shoutboxes really seem to lack that. maybee make it so it used its own smile folder instead of your forum smiles. or a option in admin cp like "path to smiles" so admins could choose if they wanted to use board smiles or create a extra folder for just shoutbox smiles. some of mine are rather big and look ok in forums but terrible in the shoutbox.

how this rate to other shoutboxes as far as server load? better, same, no idea? database? flatfile?

The problem is that if enable the guest to viewing chatbox, it don't show the new messages like vbshout if not refresh the forum homepage

Great Mod Cyb, I love your works.

I do have a problem though:

I do not see the admin options when I am logged in (Super Admin, and the only admin). I am completely unable to admin this mod when active.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled, to no avail. None of the admin options are available to me.

It would appear that the "can_moderate()" isn't recognizing me (Super Admin) or any other Super Moderator

mrbdy, if u go into your vboptions and go down to whatever this one is called. u will see an option that say something about where it will show (default is index) make it blank and it will show on all pages.....

and i was wondering how i would go about editing it so links actually show and are clickable, cause it seems to add a space in the link and making it non clickable

No, it's the same as before. There was just a bug where mods can see checkboxes and delete button but nothing happens after submition. So mods, supermods, and admins are able to delete messages.

You can do this all through ChatBox archive. There are checkboxes for deletion and other options are found in sliding menus.

List of messages is updated every x seconds, which means 1 database query is executed every x seconds. If you enable ChatBox on all pages then queries are executed on all these pages for all active users (able to view ChatBox) and your server may slowdown.


And btw new version is coming as I have to fix some minor bugs.

I would like to check your forum to see what causes this. Or someone else's forum who has this problem. Temp admin account should help. I'm really not sure what can be problem as hack uses standard vB functions to build date/time.

This is strange. Ask someone who reported problem to logout/clear forum cookies, then re-login and see if problem is gone.

Cipri, you're not the only one, I am seeing the logout issue as well on my board. Switched browsers, same thing. Some users are having the issue, some are not. I am perplexed as to even where to start to look to resolve this issue. Variety of browsers and ISPs are involved, so it appears quite random.

Bug which shows php error (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost.php?p=1358668&postcount=106) when there is no messages and you are using "reversed" mode, has been fixed. Zip has been updated leaving version info the same. So re-download zip and re-upload product to your forum if you get this error.

I uploaded the xml and went into settings and made sure it was on then that was it. Nothing on forum home under navbar. So I manually put it into the forumhome section above the users active stuff. Still nothing so I tried using your thing that says place it above footer and still nothing. Any ideas? I suspect that there is some non-standard data that can give problems, because although to you it goes well in all your forums, you already see that I am not the unique one that have this exact problem with the time/date. Thanks for the info BoRoU. I guess this is style/language related.

So adding "%" before time/date format parameters in hack options fixes problem where date/time is not show properly on some forums. Examples: month = "%m", day = "%d",... etc.

If you have no problems with the time and date you should NOT add % as it will be printed as is. So use "m" for month, "d" for day,... etc.

I believe the date problem is because in different languages (with a different locale) vb uses some other function instead of date(), with different parameters

check strftime() in php.net for the list of date formats used

actually, you should use the forum's default date formats, or warn people to use the right format if they use a different locale.

One question tho: When it comes to server load, how is this chatbox compared to chatboxes like Shoutbox 2.0, Inferno Shoutbox and MGC Chatbox? Is it the same, lower or higher?

A feature which I would love to see is that new threads are being announced in the chatbox.
Another feature which I would really need in order to use this chatbox is vBAdvanced Compatibility. Are you going to make something for vBA soon? Or is it already present?

Oops, my mistake.
Having followed your instructions for display within vBA, it worked perfectly, once. When I reloaded the page the shoutbox was not there anymore. Any ideas.
Works perfectly within the forums.

p.s. I have vBA installed in root and the forums in /forum/ directory if that helps.

Yes, template edit is not required if you enable automatic insertion of CB below navbar or above footer.

vbAdvanced CMPS integrated problem:
Chatbox below navbar and above CMPS left sidebar with blocks and forumhome. With CMPS integrated on the forums index and the web browser window reduced, the width of the forums index below the navbar is extended by the width of the CMPS side-bar. This will cause horizontal scroll bars on small monitors. This happens even with Chatbox position disabled in options.

Mac Problem:
My Mac users are able to chat but the message formatting options such as Bold, Underline and Italic don't work and the colour selector is blank. Some Mac users are also reporting that the chatbox displays a "Busy" notice. I don't have a Mac but I tried it in Safari for Windows and the Chatbox is fully working in that.

Well tried everything I can think off to fix it but its still broken.

People are going backwards in time and jumping forwards two minutes so entries to the chatbox and coming up in the wrong order.

This is a nice looking chat box. I have installed it, and was playing with it and wondered how to get back to the NON full screen when you have gone over to the full screen or the archives. I was just clicking the back arrow, but is there another way?

Is there a way to show who is in chat when you are in the small screen mode?

Are the ban and unban etc commands the same as what is used in IRC, or ?

Nice work...just one comment...you should try to incorporate the following into this mod: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=65394

That hack would actually fit in nicely with your mod...instead of a user having to load all the smilies at one time, they can select by category.

This would save a lot of time for those using dial-up...just trying to be considerate. It would also make the use of smilies just a little bit more user friendly.
