Murk Horoscopes - Daily zodiac horoscopes for your forums

Hello there,

This is a pretty basic zodiac horoscope addon. Horoscopes are fetched from californiaphysics.com.

To install:

Extract the files from Murkhoroscopes/forums/ folder and upload them to your forum root and it's corresponding directories.

I.e. upload in the following order:

murkhoroscopes.php to forums/
class.ahoroscope.php to forums/includes/
create a folder named 'horoscopes'and upload all the images from the zip archive to forums/horoscopes

Finally upload the product murkhoroscopes.xml through your product manager in ACP.

Now you may add the link (http://www.yourforum.com/murkhoroscopes.php) anywhere on your board.

No link back to my website is required and you're free to modify it as per your own liking.

Please note that it is not supported so use it at your own risk.

Update: Fixed the modification to work with the latest astrology.com changes. To upgrade, simply upload and replace the class.ahoroscope.php in the includes directory.

Update 2: Astrology.com goes broke (experimentation perhaps) every now and then so I have decided to embed content from californiaphysics.com instead. To upgrade, simply upload and replace the class.ahoroscope.php in the includes directory

Please make sure you have allow_url_fopen set to yes in php.ini file. If you do not have access to that file then ask your host to allow it because the function file_get_contents() is critical for the addon to run :)

Edenx it cannot be translated because the horoscopes are fetched from Astrology.com.

Mrdby, no, horoscopes are updated every 24 hours on astrology.com

I like this. Only suggestion would be to initially show the date and "Todays Horoscope" presumign that you wanted to see the horoscope of anyone who had today as a birthday. THEN be able to click on any other sign.

Great Mod

If there are any future updates it would be nice to have the user correct horoscope appear automatically. The sign can be found using their birthday if available or by adding a new field in the profile that lets the user select their sign.

Works like a charm, 3.6.8, there's a couple other horoscope mods here that seem to be nothing but trouble from what I've read on them. This is one's great for my needs.

i tried adding http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/trurl_pagecontent?lp=en_el&url= in the link right before http://horoscopes.astrology.com/dailylong".$sign.".html in class.ahoroscope.php but it didnt work maybe the developer can work around this idea though to make it work for other languades

OK the translation like i posted works for example adding

It should work for languages can someone help about the greek encoding shit i get the result like symbols. seems like i need UTF-8 encoding for this page to be displayed correct
