The wheel on my Clipper lighter is no longer round, oh no, it's pentagon! So much easier on the thumb!

It's weird. I always wanted a nice zippo type lighter, yet I don't smoke and never plan to. :/

Then get one.

Carrying a lighter is like carrying a pocket knife/multi-tool, you may never need it but some day you might find yourself in need of fire wood and a flame to start it with. ;)

The only modification I do to my Bics is removal of the child safety device. Sometimes I'll turn the cheapo lighters into "crack flames" by taking them apart and turning the gas release all the way up. That's great fun until you go too high and the plastic starts to melt.

* Brad loves fire. If it wasn't for smoking he'd still be setting things on fire...like his house (did it twice as a kid :p)

+1 to Brad

I carry a zippo, and I rarely smoke. My uncle died a few years back so I took his Zippo, sorta my good luck charm

a Zippo can be good for guys willing to find gals... when you have a zippo, you can offer your fire to any single gal.

I own 4 Zippos, plus bought my hubby his own our first Christmas together. They'll last forever if you take care of them...or don't lose them (my Dad almost lost his in Vietnam).

No, I just don't want to be taxed to pay for everyone elses agenda, especially when it has nothing what so ever to do with smoking at all. It's like this, smokers are evil and are killing themselves so lets tax the hell out of the because everyone hates them. The hypocrisy is simply overwhelming.

It somehow does make sense Eric, they asume that us smokers wil live shorter, so they must get our money quick. ;)

it's a two ways service... when you buy cigs, you pay to die quickly, and if you pay your taxes, you pay even more if you want to die sooner...

I love zippos as well and I'd carry one if I knew that the fluid wouldn't eventually go dry while the lighter just hung out in my pocket all the time. I've carried a Swiss Army knife since I was about 12. I carry a Leatherman on a regular basis as well. And a bandana which has more uses than being a snot rag. But I just can't justify having to fill a lighter once a month or whatever when I don't use it.

Carry a bic, if you don't use them they keep forever.

I agree with you. I'm paying $1 more per pack for the same cigs I smoked 5 - 6 years ago. All of that price hike is taxes...and they're going up again really soon.

At this point in my life I don't want to quit smoking so I suppose you could say I'm doing it to myself. _However_ this drug is worse than cocaine when it comes to the addiction factor imo. It's also legal (=easy to get) so that just adds to the problem.

Society really gets to me over the issue of smoking. They call us "killers" due to second hand smoke, they look at you as a lesser person because you smoke, and they just love having us pay more and more taxes year after year.

These very same people drive toxic spewing cars everyday, drink themselves nearly to death every weekend, and think some spirit they can't even see controls the universe and everything that goes on in it. How are they better than me again? The lot of 'em are just trained monkeys spewing the crap they've been fed via TV, radio, and school imho.

Where I live people aren't so crazy for the most part (thank god). I can smoke just about everywhere including some public buildings and I don't have to hear any crap from someone when I do it. :)

I was in Florida awhile back and I walked into a gas station with a lit smoke (to buy smokes :p). The women running the place started ranting like I'd just punched a baby in the face or something....the people standing around the store egging her on the whole time.

I understand it's the law (at the time I didn't know this) but you don't talk to me that way! You ask me nicely and I'll follow the rules, if not then I go about my business and you just have to deal with it. She rang me up while I puffed on my smoke and I made sure not to stop there anymore for the rest of the week as I don't do business with +++++++s.

Eh I guess I'm saying smokers are people to, and if you see a long-haired southern boy puffing on a newport next time you go some place try to ask him nicely to put the smoke out if it bothers you. I think you'll find he'll be happy to do that for you, and he'll go outside the next time he feels the need for a smoke break.

Just a thought from the heart of tobacco country! :p

I'd run when I was of age but the system doesn't work for common people like me. They don't want a man with an opinion anymore, they want a puppet.

Aside from that I'm still ill about the fact that they ran my people off this land and claimed it as their own. If anything the US government owes me and plenty of other people lots of land and money. Too bad most of us are mix-breeds now and we don't even look like "red men".

Then there is the whole issue of the Southern Cross....:p I told one of my buddies last night that I'd denounce my US citizenship in a heart beat if Belgium would let me in...but I won't denounce my country...it was whipped off the map years and years ago.

Native American? Apparently a great great uncle (or something like that) of mine was a red indian chief. Wouldn't catch them lighting there peace pipes with a crazy zippo =D
