Well, when I first joined vB.org, my site was starting anew. We'd been using Invision and I'm glad to report vBulletin has helped the site grow more than I could have ever imagined. Nearly 5,000 members, over 100,000 posts, and our traffic is skyrocketing everyday. I credit most of the success to the vBulletin software and its easy use and customization.

Now to the review, we recently decided to change the homepage layout and get a new style. I believe the new look is amazing and I hope you all agree.

When loading your site, it wants to install a DivX player. That is enough for me to leave immediate again.

I like the logo and some of the images, but the sections are really wide two me, seems kinda bland two, but thats just me.

MArco... ti is because your DivX player is not configured to play the movies directly on websites, because it tries to download the reader for the film placed on the page.. L:)

I know what is the most likely reason, but that does not mean that i would visit any site that requires me to install non-standard features of my OS/Browser. ;)

We don't rely on google for traffic, however we rank 12 for Halo Forum, and page 5 for Halo Tournaments.

Whoa, I agree. Auto request of download script is one of the bigger no-no's of site development.

Personally, I find the blue things a bit too blue :)

The guy in your votd is damn good at halo though :o

A nice theme, i dont like:
- Your status icons
- The halo icon next to the catagory name
- The lack of signature size limits, some of them are far too big, taking up half my screen.

well this is what i told some other guy here on the forums about halo ::::: and it goes the same for your forums i would say..

for a halo forum i expected some Way better... its gaming... something like my new design ( not to show off or anything , just to point out what kind of theme your site needs for gaming )...

Look here :

See what i mean ? it doesn't necessarely need to be like that, but you get the idea..

Good site though ,just needs some attractive gaming feel to it.

Those designs look good Xtrato, but I there's no way I can find any vbulletin skins on your site. You really need to work on your navigation.

Now for QSK global: I find the VBA portal and the arcade too blocky. Consider rounded edges. The icon used for WOL and stats seems a bit childish to me. Other than that I think the skin's colours are nice and also easy on the eyes.

I quite like the look of your style. For some parts, it's clean and simple and looks tidy though I have a few grievances that bother me when it comes to the visual side.

The forum status Icons look a little tacky and don't go very well with the whole look. infact, it's a little distracting due to the inconsistency it oozes. Keep it simple, like the rest of the style, afterall, icons and other such forum images can spoil a style and that's what I feel the forum Icons are doing.

The collapse icons could do with being a little more prominent. Give them some kind of transparent area with a bevel or some kind of indent. Whilst on that .tcat area, I would remove that image on the left side of the .tcat gradient due to it looking very taccy and incorrectly saved (white matte showing around the edges).

Looking at the images in the "what's going on" area one word springs to mind... "gigantic". The image looks terribly jaggy and doesn't do any justice in the visual improvement side not to mention they are far to big.

Looking into the postbit, buttons are hard to see and I would suggest that you inject some life into creating a visually more prominent set of buttons which would give off a nice feel in the postbit area.

Don't get me wrong I like the style (or atleast parts of it) and with some time and a little effort you could dramatically improve the whole look of the style by spending a liittle time thinking about what would look better than what you have. :)

Ensure that you check images for white matting showing around the edges (I noticed some) . you should re-creating the images and save them as the background colour they are being applied onto.
