Halo 3...revisitited

This game was not worth the 3 year wait.

Did anyone else buy the game, and have a giant disappointment today?

And not only that but the "Limited edition" cases were a disaster and my disc was all scratched up before even leaving the case.

Still waiting for my collector's and legendary versions to come in the mail..

Should be this morning..

I've heard about the disc issue on the majority of collector's boxes though, and will be taking mine back if it's scratched at all..

you waited 3 years for that?!... surely you are not a fan, just a guy with too much expectations...

and btw, this is not a place for games reviews... there is at least 10 sites related to Halo which opened in the last months with vBulletin... go in the community reviews and go visit them if you want to review the game...

I'm a fan of halo games, but like any FPS the story line wasn't the greatest thing in the world...

i did not say he had no right to talk about it... but the way he posted this comment, i am sure i want to compare with others who play with it... and the best place where to find these players is on Halo Fan sites...

anyway, just saying that a game is a sh*t is not a review... the guy give no real comment on details, gameplay or even interface... for me this is just troll...

i did not play it personally, i do not have the engine to play it... but i received the Halo 2 for Vista last month and played it entirely... just the local part... i do not like the story line because it is just "kill this, kill that" compared to the first version which was more complexe...

and for a Marathon trilogy fan, i can tell that Halo is boring in the storyline side of it...

Yea it's great online, part 3 is supposed to be a little better than 2. :)

I ain't got a chance to play it yet but it's on my to-buy list.... :D

I'm still waiting for my Halo 3 limited edition to arrive. I ordered through eBay and it seems to be taking longer than I would have liked; at least when it does arrive I'll know I'll have saved a little cash by not forking out extra in Woolworths or something.

I got a chance to play it over the last two nights and I'm happy with the game for sure. ;)

Slayer/deathmatch mode is just as fun as always. The story mode is also good (disclaimer; I ain't beat the game yet! ;)).

I'm not sure what they're called but I love the new items you can use. A short list of the ones I've seen;

1) You can place a two types of shields anywhere you need them. One is an old school shield you can shoot around, the other is a "bubble" that people can pass through but bullets can't.

2) There is a red item you can throw that will screw with everyones radar...it comes in handy. :p

3) There is a big blue bomb that takes a huge portion of your energy shield/life bar before blowing up.

4) There is a "gravity boost" pod you can place anywhere on the stage. Great for snipers! :D

5) There are flash bangs! w00t!

There are probably some more I've forgotten about...I recall some green thing that will heal you or something to that effect (maybe a mobile overshield? Can't remember...).

The gun selection is great! ;) I love having my old school automatic rifle back for starters. ;) There are a few new guns for taking out mechs (including a badass rail gun that takes forever to charge). Personally I love yanking up torrent guns and carrying them around the stage like some kind of mobile man-tank. You know you're in trouble when I find the "street sweeper" ;).

The rocket launcher kinda sucks this time around....at least I can't figure out how to make it lock on to things anymore! :( They made up for it with a torrent-like missile launcher that locks on in a heart-beat and shoots really fast. I've been bunny hopping over walls and taking out tanks with 3-shots with that thing since I "discovered" it! ;)

We're having a blast playing it. I am currently UNDEFEATED in slayer mode! :D I bet that changes as soon as I play it online! :(

You'll have to explain this one. ;) I'll wait on that before I post a novel on how they aren't remotely similar (aside from begin FPSs).

To me it sounds like someone ain't played Halo. :p
