i seem to have annoyed a group of people behind the web site a2zchennai.com. one of the dudes has 'promised' me on gtalk that he would get his entire team to register on my forum and post spammy messages.

now i know i can enable the setting which would require all new registrations to be manually approved by the moderators.

but that is not exactly friendly...

i need some plugin which would help me control the activities of new members on the forum.

also something that enables me to replace the text a2zchennai.com with someothertext.

thanks
Sushubh

ok i installed a plugin named Prevent Spam. let's see how it works.

Replacement Variables

Well if they do launch an attack on "yah" forum, there's little you can do really other than block them from spamming their URL with replacement variables. You can moderate new user registrations, but you could potentially end up blocking good, new members.

Also a patient spammer will always get around your filters for blocking their URL. for example if you block example.com they will come and spam saying example dot com, or e x a m p l e . c o m (remove the spaces) etc..

heh. sorry for that mah word.... just used it out of excitement.

it seems to be fine now. the installed plugin is blocking any posts made containing that keyword. :)
