Hey everyone, I'm new here but at the same time I'm quite lost to find a certain plugin that I need for my VBulletin forum that I am using. The current version I have is 3.6.8 and I'm trying to find how to install a Shoutbox to be implemented on it.

Can anyone help me with a direct link to download the right version? Just feeling a bit lost here.

Also, another question, do we have to pay for the plugins or new mods to be added onto our VBulletin forum software?

Those are the two leading free shoutbox modifications for vBulletin. Some modifications are paid-for, such as vBulletin Project Tools. All the ones released on vBulletin.org are free-of-charge.

You have uninstalled a modification and forgot to remove the files.

So your next suggestion would be for me to browse around the folders on my server and find them?

I have installed the MGC Chatbox v1.4 but I am not exactly sure if I do have the right files in the right folders because I followed the instuctions which mentioned I had to 'upload' whatever was under this folder to the server, did that. Then something about the 'P folder' and it said 'import', did it mean upload which I did to the folder that it had mentioned. Any hints?

You've forgotten to remove one of those files related to the modification.

Hmmm I'm still confused though.

I re-did all of the steps again, and still have the same error. However with in regard to the...

/includes/xml/bitfield_*.xml ( I removed them one by one and tried it, still had no luck) with either the default or new templates that I have.

Pretty much after I had installed the modification, that's what happens to it.

Only happens whenever I try to apply the changes for the Usergroup to see the Shoutbox. I dunno why.

Maybe to double check again, can you help me by showing where the files should be listed under? That would be helpful. Cause I do know that I followed the instructions that was provided, but maybe I slipped up somewhere.

If it is caused after you have installed a modification, this indicates it hasn't inserted a field into the database. You should contact the modification author.

Are you sure you don't have 1 of the following files on your system:
./includes/xml/bitfields_mgc.xml
./includes/xml/bitfields_mgc_chatbox.xml

Hey Marco, both of these files are located under the

<my domain>/forum/includes/xml/bitfield_mgc.xml
<my domain>/forum/includes/xml/bitfield_mgc_chatbox.xml

(Hence its not called 'bitfields' when I downloaded from one of the links suggested)

Also the files of... product-mgc_chatbox and product-mgc_bitfield_custom that were located under the 'P Folder', I uploaded them into the same folder because I thought that's what it meant to where it should be imported into.

What I was trying to do, I have like two templates. But before I stuff up the other template (which is in currently used right now) I thought to try out the default installation template that came with VBulletin so I could muck around and make sure I am doing the right thing.

Sorta like testing you know, just to make sure I can do it the first time but I seem to ran into a few problems with it right now. As in, everytime I want to set any Usergroup to 'view' the Shoutbox but I get that error message about the Database Error. Makes no sense as to why but yea.

Before I try to apply the same methods in another template, I'd like to see if I could get this one going though first.

Sorry the bitfields was a typo.

If you have the modification installed, you should have these 2 files. If you have uninstalled (or not installed the product yet), then you should remove these 2 files, as they will give you the error you posted.

Fair enough, I tried it again the third time round and this time it worked. I made a note of what I did wrong, it was just a coding error on my part. Thanks for your help you guys :D

Oh by the way, I have another question. I'm puzzled at the moment as to why when I try to send a 'massive email' to all the users, they do not receive it. Neither a test or general email.

I was wondering, is there a way to solve this issue?

AdminCP -> Mainenance _> Diagnostics -> Email
