User Profile Field Question

How can I make an additional field on the registration page that I do not want to appear in the user's profile?

For example.... I have added additional fields in the "User Profile Field Manager" like Gender etc.. but this new one will be for.... "How Did You Hear About Us?" and I did not want that in the profile.... I just wanted it emailed to me with the new member notification email.

Set "Field Editable by User" to "Only at registration". This will still show the field in the User's Profile -- but they cannot edit it after they've registered.
