Iam installed now what?

I have vb hosted on hostgator. I have vBSEO Google/Yahoo Sitemap Generator v.2.0 installed. I have five people who i told to register. I guess my question is how long will it take for Google to at least show my web address when the url is typed. Does it take time or am I just jumping ahead of myself. I new to all of this and I am not sure what to do. Was the sitemap generator a bad idea? Hostgator shows google bot having 8 hits so far in a weeks time if that helps any. Thanks in advance..

Well a good idea it to promote your site. But don't spam.

But I recommend going to http://www.google.com/webmasters/

i just think something is wrong, i am getting alot of 404 errors in my control panel. i dont know if its from the sitemap generator i installed. thanks for that link it does get very confusing. i will keep trying to fix it.

Same here, what needs to be done to correct this?
I have reloaded everything but the do not up load file and still have the errors.
