I've run into issues and I need some help changing from vBlogetin to the new vBulletin system.
If anyone is willing to help me a reply or private message, either way, would be great!
Thank you.

I did this for someone during the week, it was an absolute nightmare.
I ended up having restore some data after impex randomly zapped posts & threads, we also finished up with duplicate user accounts. I had to run some sql queries to fix user accounts and blog accounts/entries.
What issue are you having ?

Oh boy....
Well, just trying to install the product has been unsuccessful as apparently the table names are the same on parts of both.
Compounding this, I am not really a technical person. Working in phpadmin is really dangerous territory for me.
I am not able to install it. Then, I want to be able to import the data from vBlogetin.
That's where I am now.
Thanks for responding.

Ah yes, I forgot about that ...
Three table names clash - you have to copy your database, delete vbloggetin, install vb blog and then import from the copied database.

Paul,
I see from your signature that you are not available to do that work? I'm afraid it is over my head.

If you can't find anyone else then drop me a PM and I'll see what I can do.

Ok Paul. Thank you.
If anyone else reading this has done the conversion, please let me know.

Pirage45, did you ever get this complete?
I would really like to move from vBlogetin to vB Blog myself, but at this point, after hearing so many horror stories from those that are very good at this type of stuff, I'm a little timid to take the plunge.
It doesn't appear that vBulletin is officially supporting the import/export from one to another, which is too bad.

I actually did the conversion for him, and yes, it was a nightmare.
At the time Impex did not do a lot of the necessary data moves or changes. I would hope/think that many of the issues have been fixed since then, but I haven't done another since, you would need to check with vb.com

Thanks Paul, You're not exactly a spring chicken at this stuff either, so, that's pretty scary for someone like me.
I'll do some checking and see if Impex has gotten any better since you did it. What's it been a month, maybe a month and a half since you did it?

For what its worth, I was never able to successfully import my vbjournal data to vb-blog either. I experienced all kinds of issues, from comments being linked to incorrect blog entries and entries to the incorrect users. It was so bad, I had to ask Jerry for the SQL of the imported entries -- so I now have 292 blogs with over 10k entries and you can't view a damn one of them. After a month of issues, I just gave up on it.
I wish you luck if you try the import but I havent seen anything to suggest that the process has gotten any better.

Ahh, I'm getting the warm fuzzies all over the place. Who knows maybe vblogetin will get their stuff together and deliver on their product. Than all of this is null and void.

I am having no luck with the import either. I am also not able to ask for help at vblogetin anymore as the site is in transition for the past month. Adrian has been no help in getting back to me.
So I have no clue where to go from here, I am stuck on doing the first module of the importer, it just says:
The incorrect target to export to has been chosen for this source system, restart the import with a new session and select the correct version and system to export to.
But, I have checked it several times, and everything appears to be correct, i'm just not that experienced with this kind of stuff.

My understanding is that the vBulletin guy (cannot remember who) that is in charge of Impex will help you get it done.
Though I have not done it yet. I certainly need to though.
