vB email notification and last visited thread...

OK... I give up.

I'm trying to make the email notification function in my usenet hack to work like vB's where it will only email once until you revisit the thread. How does it know?

The obvious place to look was in the subscribedthread table and the emailupdate column. But this doesn't seem to have anything to do with it.

Please can someone give me a clue. I promised to release it tonight :)

i might be being dumb but i think it is not revist the thread but since you last logged in, so the data will be in the user table. I don't think it is done on a thread by thread basis is it?

ahhh... So that would explain why I couldn't find it :rolleyes:

Hmmph. I spent ages going through the vB code trying to figure that out... and now my head hurts :(
