Whenever I check my currently active users list, on "What's going on", there is always a visitor which IP adress is "something...googlebot". I suppose it's a kind of searching engine or something like that, but I'm curious.

Googlebot (http://scholar.google.com/webmasters/bot.html) is the Google (http://www.google.com/) spider.

yes it is harmless. Although it is the best bot I have ever seen :)
