Showing first post in forumdisplay

How can I show the first post of the thread in forumdisplay?
I think I need to add a query in forumdisplay.php that will pull out the first post from each thread.

Don't know exactly but if you look at "Active Topics" that has some code which does this.

NB. This shouldn't be in the releases forum.
