i upgrated to 3.6.8. quick reply was small.

Same problem, but mine was a fresh install and the box was MUCH narrower (like a square).

When I enter text and click out of the box, the box itself will widen significantly.

It was a bug in the original 3.6.8 package. Either download the new package or apply the fixes as described in the release post at vB.com.
