Posts in subforum and the status icons it affects

Ok, i have searched EVERYWHERE and I cant seem to find it. I know theres info somewhere on how to resolve this.

When a new post is made in a subforum, how I can have the status icon of the subforum light up, and not the status icon of the parent forum as well?

Tired of going into forums thinking theres a new post in it, when its really a post in a subforum.

I don't think this is possible, as the idea is that sub forums are sub topics of the top level forum.

So the light is designed to draw you down into the forum where the new threads are.

Otherwise how would you know there were new threads within the sub forum?

through the subforum status icon.....

my subforums arent hidden you can see them on forum home

come on, anyone?

Is anyone with me on this?

When theres a post ONLY in the subforum, I want only the subforum status icon to light up.....which is subforum_new.gif..... I DONT want forum_new.gif to light up....
