View Full Version : Airplane Noise...
Realm of Horror Comics

Does anyone else have to put up with airplane noise on a daily basis? I do. There are these really irritating little gliders and massive thunderous army jets going over my house all the time. Even at night sometimes, and it just really winds me up. https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/ Just seems to be over the last 3 years or so.
So frustrating when you want to read, write, work, watch a film etc...
Anyone else get it? And how badly?
Tell me I'm not alone.
(Have also posted this on vB.com, but wanted to see what kind of feedback I get here).

thank goodness I don't hear jets also.
I hear cars, busses, sirens, helicopters, & speedboats... once in a while, car stereos or concerts in the bandshell.

No, Guys, you aren't alone...I've gotta endure all those noises you both have mentioned, with the exception of speedboats, LOL! We live at an extremely busy intersection a few miles from the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport, and it seems the flightpaths have changed recently...I can hear (and see) planes flying over, it seems, every five minutes! And since the weather has been fairly decent the past few days, I've got my apartment windows WIDE open...I got pissed several times yesterday cuz of the damn thumping bass from cars driving by with stereos that are too loud.:down:

you really do need to get a life - theres worse things going on in the world and all that bothers you is a bit of noise - get some fluffy ear muffs and your problem is solved :)
Come back and complain when one of them planes drops a huge ice block in your back garden :)
We all hear noise or soemthing at night but its just amplified more because everything else is quiet.I hear cars / gangs of yobbos running and screaming but i just turn over and go back to sleep because theres more pressing matters to worry about :)
Every once in a blue moon a plane will fly over head. That is one of the advantages of living no where near an airport or military base.

My house back home is right by O'Hare Airport (the busiest airport) and luckily the runway doesnt point at my house but sometimes when they fly low or are lining up to come in it's pretty loud. The worst thing is down at my apt at school, I'm literally next to the tracks and the station is a block away so the train basically lays on the horn for a good 2 minutes when it comes in and leaves... that will wake you up at night.

For those complaining.. were the airports/bases/etc.. there BEFORE you moved in?

Well, yeah, of course, but like I had mentioned in my original post, the flightpaths changed recently. They're not flying directly overhead, so it's not so bad, but sometimes they come in so low, it's kinda frightening!
Before I moved here, I lived in an apartment where there were railroad tracks right outside my living room window...I swear I could almost touch the train as it went by, it was that close! The building was originally a woolen mill, so I imagine that's why.

I live in rural western Colorado. There isn't even a walmart within 50 miles of me...so no, no noise.

Planes ? not a big deal.
We get overhead traffic from LAX on approach to land now and then, but its not a big deal.
Problem here is helicopters. Some nut head @ 2-5 AM always races down the valley w/ a cop chopper and 6 news choppers for 2-3 hours @ 2-3 times a week.
What a waste of time, fuel and man power.
All they need to do is fire a few shots in that car and haul it off.

Just put up some cable crossing the valley in several places and no more helicopters:D
