Restricting access to attachments by usergroup permissions

Hello,

In the usergroup permissions, there is an option "can download attachments" - yes / no.

If "yes" - the member of a particular usergroup is able to "open & save" the attachment that is displayed as thumbnail.

If "no" - the member is not able to even view the attachment.

But I am looking for an option where I can give permission to the member of a usergroup to ONLY OPEN & VIEW the attachment, but cannot DOWNLOAD TO SAVE.

How can I do this? Is there any mod / template modification already available for this? Please let me know. Thanks.

Simple answer is you can't. If i can view a jpeg I can also right click and save it, or take a screenshot and dump it into photoshop. In the same way you may embed flv video files into a youtube like player, I can then use a firefox plugin to download the flv file and play it locally. You can't restrict content like this unfortunately :)

sorry about this bump, but im trying to ally not loged in to see thumbs and pictures but no download other type of file, it is possible?

not loged just can view the images attached but if the attach is a .zip can't download it

there is a way?

i think what he meant is that to see the attached thumbnail pics, but not to open it or enlarge it.
