This product is in beta

VBNow is a twitter.com like application for vbulletin communities.

It allows members of the community to send updates about moments in their lives just by telling what they actually are doing or planning. It also allows people to add friends and directly access their entries. Friends that are tracked by others are also visible.
The core is formed by the public timeline.

If activated on your forum it includes automated image verification and flood control.

SPECIAL

- image verification is driven by the vbulletin one make sure it's activated in your options
- don't forget to set the usergroup permissions
- don't forget to set the options of VBNow to your liking

I can provide pictures if you want. My theme is fixed-width, and when viewing any of the vbnow pages, my left side is fine, but my right side extends to the edge of the screen, and my right side page 'cap' (closing) doesn't show.

On this page you get an overview the entries of Username (Number of entries: 2).

I think this might be better said:

You have a testuser for me so I can see the actual error?

Are you sure the verification settings are correct and the usergroups.

You must avoid guest being allowed to enter twits as it's linked to the userid.


Can view the vbnow application (advice YES for all usergroups except banned)

Can add posts the vbnow application (NO for guest, YES for other usergroups)

Can edit entries on the vbnow application (YES for moderator and administrator, NO for all the rest, this will allow all entries to be edited)

Can delete entries on the vbnow application (YES for moderator and administrator, NO for all the rest, this will allow all entries to be deleted)

Can edit own entries on the vbnow application (YES for all usergroups that have ADD permissions or own preference)

Can delete own entries on the vbnow application (YES for all usergroups that have ADD permissions or own preference)


Also the image verification in vbulletin options may be correct but an image is only loaded if there is a user logged in in the vbnow application or forum

Did you edit templates ? As it's almost like he's just not loading the image check template.

I cannot simulate that error except when I mess with the template or the template call.

Please upload all original files and revert the templates before uploading the products again.

To upgrade as always upload the files and run to product xml with overwrite.

You need to reinstall the product.

For uninstall it so it cleanly drops the tables. Did you accidently drop the table, as that seems to be the only way you can get that error.

That part hasn't changed since the initial release.

Please uninstall the product and check if there are tables left (shouldn't be, if so drop) before reinstalling. If that doesn't work run the query manually (you need to edit it before being able to run in phpmyadmin)

I get the same errors and symptoms as Endurer. Uninstall/reinstall doesn't work (vbnow tables were dropped on uninstall). I get the same errors when trying to manually create the vbnow table. MySQL 4.0.27, vBulletin 3.6.8

Anyway - another suggestion: Make it so that the top "tweeters" is shown in a list with number of "tweets" -- Maybe perhaps the list can be shown on all pages right beneath the Menu...

This is a great tool. I am heavily modifying it to reflect the latest updates on the homepage via ajax. When someone updates the page, it will update on the homepage automatically.

Also, a nice feature would have been the built-in integration onto the homepage, possibly in the header. Would have been nice to have that option then re-coding it.

2) is it possible to have the vbnow text box in your usercp so people can enter what they are doing right then and there? that's the way they have the "what you are doing right now" on facebook always in the usercp, same as on myspace.

Okay...this sounds really cool. So despite the fact that I run a Vbul forum with more than 1 million pageviews per month (22,000 unique users/month), I'm still somewhat of a non-techie.

Can some kind soul tell me what the value of this mod would be? What would it enable my users to do that they can't already do via the forum and PM?

I see there is an RSS feed for the 'individual' pages as well as the "public" page.

So, in essence, we can take those feeds and display them anywhere on the site by using a script to display "x" amount of 'items' on their profile page or in a block on the forum home or homepage, etc.

Is the mod working on 3.7 series as well as 3.8?

Just de-activate "Enable image verification" in the options and it runs on 3.8.6
