I have installed & then UN-installed forum styles many times now, and I was wondering about their numerical orders. Like say now, I only have 4 styles up, but my Default is the only one that is numbered correctly. It goes like this:

Default Style--1
OrangeBane--37
OrangeBane Ultra--38
Shadow's Bane--39

How can I reset this so they are just 1,2,3,4 again? Please help?

It's the MySQL unique indexes. You've installed 39 styles (and removed many), and therefore, it's currently at 39.

But how do I reset that? I would just delete the entire shabang and reinstall everything. It's just I didn't want to delete all my posts & stuff, too. Is there a way to just reset the index for the styles?

You could go directly into the database and change the styleid. However, you would have to edit the id everywhere it shows up. It's easy to change it in the table "style", but it is also called out in "user". I don't know which other tables/columns it would show up in.

Sounds like a plan, man. https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/images/smilies/smile.gifThanks. But where all does the id data appear? Anyone know?https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2007/08/15.gif

Any id in vBulletin is automatically generated by MySQL, and you should never change them. There is also no reason to change them.

After changed you will see white page. As Marco said, you shouldn't change them.

Well, technically, no. But I am planning to upload about 11 more styles later this year and I wanted them numbered consecutively. Forewarned & understood about the potential dangers, can you guys still tell me where all the ids which Lynne mentioned, show up? I would really appreciate it & it will save me from having to reinstall everything just so I can have this ordered right. It's THAT important to me. Please help guys. I promise I'll be careful.

There is absolutly no (valid) reason to have them renumbered!

Styleid's are stored on many places and i will not even start to name them as i would probably forget a few, and it will totally mes up your board. I really strongly suggest that you forget about this, it is not worth the effort and the risks.
