I want to charge per listing via PayPal
Don't need auction function
Need to keep old ads "for ever" as reference
Multiple image upload
Need feedback system
Any added ID security features would be a bonus

VBClassifieds looks like a work in progress (recently purchased? Taken over?) that I will need to get in and customize heavily, is Photopost classifieds more 'ready' / stable?

Hope this question isn't uncool..

I will probably end up buying both to try out but want to learn from the experienced here

Thanks in advance,

With PhotoPost Classifieds you can charge per listing (via PayPal and others) and it supports multiple image uploads and a feedback system. There is an auction feature, but you don't have to enable it.

I hope this helps; you can see my PhotoPost Classifieds installed at http://www.viperalley.com/classifieds

Thanks, I see you have zip code search enabled. Is it possble to add to that or turn that into country and / or city location searching for sale items - so I can use this software on an international site?

Bearing in mind that I only need listing, not auction functions... how are you fixed for different currency data entry? Must it allways be just one nominated main currency or can people have prices in; Aus dollars / Canadian dollars / Euro / UK Pounds etc.(or is there a work around?)

Also - will this keep pace with future VB upgrades?

Thanks again,

The one thing I don't like about Photopost Classifieds is that it's difficult to integrate simple things (like vbulletin user data) into the ads without having to know PHP extensively. The code base is just so different than vb. VBclassifieds looks like it will integrate much easier and it uses the vb template system, which is a huge plus in terms of integration and making modification simple. Though the support looks like it isn't quite there yet.

I use Photopost Classifieds and have had a hell of a time trying to modify it to meet the needs of our community. The main thing is trying to tie it into vb a little more than it does by default. There isn't a big following of hackers to help out with mods/hacks and the code base is a lot different than vbulletin so it can be a little difficult to get the two to work together. If VBclassifieds gets their support up to snuff and they create an import script for Photopost Classifieds, I'll be switching over.

I prefer the potential of VBclassifieds and how it will work with vbulletin but Photopost Classifieds is probably more stable.

Hope that helps.

Wow, that was a rather old thread you've bumped. 3 years. This will probably be locked.

Also, nobody cares if a product is dead.

Hello Mate,

Long time, no speak. What classifieds are you using now? PM me.

Wrong - we all care! Those of us that have purchased it, that is. ;)
