Password protection not working

When i try to ue password protection it doesnt work.

I click the options to YES and enter a password in the box provided, it displays the * next to the protected forum, but i can still see all.

As an admin you are never asked for a password.

I thought i checked with a standard member but they must have had some other permissions mask enabled as they bypassed the PW
