I only use google adsense at the moment because I don't know any that are better.

I have a very small board at the moment, only 90 members and 620 posts. My problem is I thought even at this small stage I would be getting *some* clicks, but im not getting anything. Not even a few cents. How can I generate any kind of money from adverts like this?

theres really not alot you can do ay,
i dont get any clicks from my site and i have about the same members as u... except 20,000+ posts.

I suggest you get a ad management mod and possibly use the google ad setup to block sites to make stuff more relevant to your audience and change the colours to make your ads stand out.

Amount of users really doesn't have alot to do with how many clicks you have to a point. I have a forum of 2500 and probably make more via ad clicks and purchases then forums of 20,000+ members. (probably alot more) One thing I saw was that you didn't have a banner on your homepage. I bet if you look the majority of your vistors probably go to the homepage the leave because you don't have much content at all. My suggestion is that you get more content on your site and throw a banner on the homepage.

Well to give you a response from the BigBoard POV, traffic gets you money. If your site can't generate a few clicks to an ad and you're certain the ads are showing up properly then either (a) you users have no interests in the ads, (b) the ads are poorly placed (i.e. at the bottom of a page rather than the top), or (c) or there's just too little traffic to monetize.

At 620 posts you can't be getting more than a few impressions.

Why not? Because it is not a big board!

This forum is intended for owners of a big board to discuss the specific issues they have to deal with when operating a big board.
