This tutorial changes the look of the last posted post in the forumhome template. The vertical column for the last posts disappears and a box with the last posted post appears below the forum description. Also see the included screenshots to get a better view of this mod.

History:
Version 1.0: First release.
Version 1.1: Added collapsable boxes.
Version 1.2: Fixed boxes for subforums.
Version 1.3: Fixed scrambled box without forum description, fixed box for no-posts forum, added missing "collapseimg" variable to lastpostby.gif, compatible with vBulletin 3.7.x.

This mod continues as a vBulletin 3.7 modification: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=174922

It looks like they just use the standard built-in collapse object code in vB, only thy named each one
id="collapseobj_forumbit_2"
id="collapseobj_forumbit_3"
id="collapseobj_forumbit_4"

etc, doen the line...

There's some tutorials around this site about how to make things collapseable using the built-in vB collapse object code. Use the advanced search and see what you can find.

Hope that helps...

EDIT: Mod author needs to add fixes for sub-forums (colums don't display correctly if you have sub-forums)

I'll look on to that tomorrow. It's midnight now in my timezone :)

I've looked through it and made some adjustments. I've made it version 1.1, since the changes aren't that small-ish.
First of all I've enabled the boxes to be collapsibel (optional of course). Also I've fixed the colums in the subforumslist. It now lines up correctly and the lastpostinfo shows up.

good, but can you do 2 or more on laspost?
If you mean the 2 or more lasts posts of a forum, I can't help you. That's more a technical issue than a design issue :)

This looks nice, but it only works on about half my forums. LOL.

Weird..

You probably do not have forum descriptions on all of them. The way it's coded, you have to have descriptions for it to work.

This is an interesting mod, but I was wondering, would it be possible to make them collapsed by default, where a user would have to click to open the ones he wanted to look at? Thanks. Eric
