I cannot change my cPanel password without getting a database error.
I had someone working on my website but I want to change my passwords like I do for routine, and I cannot get ahold of him. I am assuming he did something to the script, and now if I change the password to cPanel I get a database error. It has to be some sort of script in vBulletin, since that's all my website is; is vBulletin. I contacted my web hosting support and they said:It's likely one of your web scripts is using the primary mysql user instead of a custom mysql user created specifically for the database being used on your site. Your main mysql users password is tied to your cPanel password. therefore, if you change the cPanel password you also change it. Since cPanel knows nothing of your scripts it cannot modify their configuration file.
Any clues on how I can change my password without this error?
