Hi, I am planning on purchasing vbulletin soon, but I had this great mod idea and would like to share it. Since this is the only forum I can post in right now, I will just post it here.

What the mod would do, is every month would email all registered users that have been inactive for excatly a month (or over, since the process takes a month, it may have started 1day before some users were marked as inactive), telling them about their inactivity and that they will be deleted if they don't get active again. Then there would be a stats page that shows all current info for that month - how many members have come back since the email, how many haven't, and maybe some other stats. The whole process would take a month, so by the end of the month, the system would delete all the users it sent an email to (NOT ALL INACTIVE USERS, because if the check started for example one day before some users were marked as inactive, they would not have been part of the process therefore not getting the email. Then it would generate a report, that says the percent of people that came back, and if you have "gained" or "lost" members that month (Depending on fast your board grows) (you would also be able to look at archives from previous months)

Also, there should be some "on vacation" feature in the profile, which the user can check, in order to by-pass the inactivity process, because in a sense, if they bothered to even check it, they are most likely to come back.

Therefore, having a active forum.

There are the Inactive Users E-mail Reminder mods and the Welcome Headers modifications which encourage inactive members already.

ok doesnt have all the current features I said, but could be suggested. Also, is there a mod for sub-categories? The main category would be like regular, then a sub-category, then the boards. Also, what is this mod?: http://forums.facepunchstudios.com/custom_forums.php?

That mod is custom written by Gary himself.

The mod basically gives the ability of creating forums to regular users after they've gotten a specified amount of posts.
