View Full Version : Best Way To Set Up Warnings?

Hi,

Ok I want to start clamping down on spamming etc on my forum. So this is my first vB board. I notice there is an infractions thing built onto it. Is this the right thing im looking for?

Its basically so admins and mods can warn users with points or a percentage and when they hit so far...

50%/5 points = 1 day suspension
75%/8 points = 1 week suspension
90%/9 points = 1 month suspension
100%/10 points = banned

And also if possible it shows a little bar, sort of like the rep bar in your posts at the avatar bit to show how much a member is warned etc.

I know this is a long shot but just wanna know the best one for this sort of thing.

Thanks,

Rowan

See this mod (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=124477&highlight=smith+warning), it might be just what you're looking for.

Or this (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=132131&highlight=smith+warning).

I personally don't know. My forum isn't really big enough to need either one. I just happened to know of them.

The infractions system would be best way to go, it's a stock vBulletin feature and should be well tested.

I was just looking at those two hacks that dismas sugggested and they both look very good. If I was to use one (which I probably am) I would use the 'Smith' one. I'm just wondering as to wether they work on the full 3.6.x spectrum.
