Private forum problem 3.6.7

What I have just discovered is that if you do not password protect the private forum it does show number of threads and posts but obviously not the content.

Soon as you password protect it those numbers go to zero's.

I cannot find a way around that and think it is a programming anomoly.

I want users who are unable to access that hidden forum to see the activity, and I also want a password for extra security ... so can anyone help? Maybe there's a mod around I dont know of?

The default to zero is default within vBulletin. And I do not know of any mods that deal with this.

But it does open the door for improvement/mods.

Why would you want to password protect a forum that is already closed for those without access by the usergroup permissions?

You should either password protect it, or restrict access with the permissions.
