Yes and the functions of this one will keep rising. That once just uses vboptions. Mine stores the previous winners in the database which can be viewed in the admincp

Very nice :)
Some suggestions for a future update:
1. make title Sig Of The Week an option in the admincp to enter The SOTW number then it will show, SOTW #49 in the title, and it will also link to the thread as well.
2. take a look at how the SOTW is on the bottom of this page http://www.gamerzneeds.net/forums/
See the
Name: Rasengan
Prize: Premium Silver! (1 week)
Admin Rating: Good
Click here to visit the thread.
I like that layout more compare to the way this one is, maybe you could think about this in the next update.
3. Is the thread ID/Voting ID just the ID or the link? if it is just the ID can you make it the link instead.
4. Visit Thread - Vote For Next Weeks Can you add that part in the title instead, I think it will make it look nicer.
5. Have a link to "Past Winners" and it will display past winners with dates and their entries.
If you can do those few things, I feel it would be awesome!

I think what hornstar was getting at in his 3rd question was, I believe, that he runs vBSEO (as do I). So we can't get the ID...so we need to be able to put the full link in rather than an ID.

Very nice, it is coming along good.
1. maybe change signature to Winner's Entry
2. SOTW -> I see that it is now linked to the forums, but just making sure there is a choice of where to link it to. Also, just making sure the title is changeable eg. i will want to change it each week from SOTW #1 then SOTW #2 etc.
3. in details column add the Prize: field
4. in details column add the Admin Rating: Field with the stars (Drop down menu in admincp)
With those last 4 changes, it is coming along very nicely!

Thanks, maybe in next one:
1. you could also have an option in the admincp which has a drop down menu of several different locations of where this can be shown on your site, to save on a template edit.
2. Change Admin Rating from numbers to (Terrible, Bad, Average, Good, Excellent)
3. (from above) have custom title, and have it also link to somewhere custom.
Here are my current bugs I think:
1. Click on 'Main' in the admincp under SOTW and on the next page, I click Add New then on the next page, It has the Add entry part and under that
Could not find phrase 'sotw_fill_in_all'.
2. Settings (There is no settings on this page, and when I click on setting group drop down, there is none for the SOTW) Is there meant to be something here?
3. on yours, you have
Winner: Admin
Votes: 50
But on mine, winner: and Votes: is not showing up only the info, eg. only Admin and 50 is showing.
Apart from that, it is looking real nice so far.
Thanks.

Also, there is a valid xhtml problem here
Line 144, Column 82: document type does not allow element "tbody" here.
…ng><br /> </fieldset></td></tr><tbody> <tr> <td class="tfoot" align="center"
✉
The element named above was found in a context where it is not allowed. This could mean that you have incorrectly nested elements -- such as a "style" element in the "body" section instead of inside "head" -- or two elements that overlap (which is not allowed).
One common cause for this error is the use of XHTML syntax in HTML documents. Due to HTML's rules of implicitly closed elements, this error can create cascading effects. For instance, using XHTML's "self-closing" tags for "meta" and "link" in the "head" section of a HTML document may cause the parser to infer the end of the "head" section and the beginning of the "body" section (where "link" and "meta" are not allowed; hence the reported error).

Will be fixed in next version. Doesn't cause any problems just a missing phrase. It would be ok to still have enabled.
I'm also thinking of making an addon soon so that you can use this with a battle system I'm making so look out for that.

Thankz it does work, Although it only works if you fill in all the fields avaliable which is annoying because I really don't see a need to fill in the votes field..should be optional to fill in what you want etc.
Also a suggestion maybe the possibility to Edit entries once you've made them..At the moment all you can do is delete them and start over again which is a pain because if you do that you'd stuff up your history of your sotw.

Few suggestions:
1. Ability to edit within admin panel, and ability to use ajax to edit on the page when viewing.
2. Ability to choose whether or not to show the "next weeks voting", or make this a seperate part of the hack? like...not in the same part as the "winning user" details.
Clean up the code for the admin panel, because the "errors" below it are quite annoying and could possibly make people think their submission did not work properly.
Lastly....after 10-15 submissions (Dont know if you have this already) but in the history start paginating after admin specified amount? or pre-chosen amount.
Other than that, I see good things for this hack!

I just upgraded just then.
1. I click on main in the admincp, and none of my images show.
tip. It is trying to load this url /admincp/sotw.php?do=main
tip. if I type in this url /admincp/sotw.php The images show.
2. the error that shows in the add new entry section "Could not find phrase 'sotw_fill_in_all'." Is still there.
3. In the image url location, it has a max character setting of only 80 characters, and the url I have is over 80 characters as it is from one of those free image uploading services, so this setting should be set to 150 characters.
How will I edit this myself in the meantime tho.
4. Needs a : after Total Votes in the info box
5. if you choose 5 stars, when you hover over the stars, you spelt Excellent wrong.
6. SOTW history is only showing this weeks entry and none of my other weeks are showing.
7. It would be good to have an extra field in the sotw entry area which links to that weeks sotw thread.

Did you reupload the XML file?
You need to reupload all the files, including the product because the links have changed.
New links:
sotw.php => Main
sotw.php?do=add = Add New
sotw.php?do=edit&id=X => Edit
sotw.php?do=delete&id=X => Delete

Maybe I spoke to soon lol, it appears to be working now. however these parts are not:
1. In the image url location, it has a max character setting of only 80 characters, and the url I have is over 80 characters as it is from one of those free image uploading services, so this setting should be set to 150 characters.
How will I edit this myself in the meantime tho.
2. Needs a : after Total Votes in the info box
3. if you choose 5 stars, when you hover over the stars, you spelt Excellent wrong.
4. SOTW history is only showing this weeks entry and none of my other weeks are showing.
5. It would be good to have an extra field in the sotw entry area which links to that weeks sotw thread.
Apart from that, it is looking better. keep up the good work.

Try the image to be somewhere on your comp.
E.g C:/User/Documents And Settings/Image.gif
I do ... HS - Signature of the Week 1.0.0
Thats a totally differant hack :(
yeah.. I moved on to that hack too... I've had to many issues with this one sadly...
Then why still post in this thread?
There are going to be errors in a hack. If you don't have the patience to wait for a fix then move on to the next hack.

Here are some suggestions:
1) I like the idea of automatically choosing the winner based on votes. The thread ID should be inputed through AdminCP for the thread who's poll votes will determine the winner.
2) I'd also like to see the person's avatar to the left of the sig. Clicking on it would allow you to view their profile.
3) I'd like the ability to place it above a forum of my choosing. Controlled through AdminCP.
4) It would be nice to expand this hack to include Avatar, wallpaper...or any other category selected by us. Each Category could have an option to place a unique box in a different forum.
5) It would be nice to not have to do ANY template edits.
What do you think Enigma? Possible?
If this means it goes pro, I'll pay for a mod like that.

I figured out how to do #2. For those of you interested do the following:
Open enig_sotw template and replace all of its contents with the below:
<if condition="$vboptions[sotw_enable] ==1">
<table class="tborder" cellpadding="$stylevar[cellpadding]" cellspacing="$stylevar[cellspacing]" border="0" width="100%" align="center" colspan="2">
<tr>
<td class="tcat" colspan="3">
<center><a href="$threadurl">$vbphrase[sotw]</a></center>
</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td class="thead" colspan="1" width="20%">
<center>Winner</center>
</td>
<td class="thead" colspan="1" width="60%">
<center>Signature</center>
</td>
<td class="thead" colspan="1" width="20%">
<center>Info</center>
</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td class="alt1" width="20%">
<center><a href="member.php?u=$suserid"><img src="image.php?$session[sessionurl]u=$suserid" alt="$susername's Avatar: Click to view Profile" border="0" /></a>
</center>
</td>
<td class="alt1" width="60%">
<center><a href="$threadurl"><img src="$imageurl" alt="Sig Of The Week: Click to view Thread" border="0" /></a>
</center>
</td>
<td class="alt2" width="20%" align="center">
<fieldset colspan="2">
<legend>Details</legend>
<strong>Winner: </strong><br /> <a href="member.php?u=$suserid">$susername</a><br />
<strong>Total Votes:</strong> <br />$votes<br />
<strong>Award $vbphrase[sotw_date]</strong><br /> $date<br />
<strong>Admin Rating:</strong><br /><img src="images/rating/rating_$adminrating.gif" alt="<if condition="$adminrating == 1">Bad</if><if condition="$adminrating == 2">Ok</if><if condition="$adminrating == 3">Good</if><if condition="$adminrating == 4">Great</if><if condition="$adminrating == 5">Excellent</if>" /><br />
<strong>Prize:</strong> <br />$prize<br />
</fieldset></td></tr><tbody>
<tr>
<td class="thead" align="center" colspan="3"><div class="smallfont"><strong>
<a href="sighistory.php$session[sessionurl_q]" rel="nofollow">$vbphrase[sotw_history]</a> <a href="$next">Next Weeks Voting</a>
</strong></div></td>
</tr>
</tbody>
</table>
<br />
</if>
This includes the following features:
Avatar now added to the left. Clickable and will direct you to the winner's profile.
Sig Pic is now clickable and will direct you to the thread.
Centered the details to look a bit better.
Provided a width percentage for the avatar, sig pic and details fields, making it centered.
It will not display an image if the winner does not have an avatar.

Excuse me, I'm just a little lost. I've managed to put it in the forum of my choosing by using this code:
<if condition="$forumid == 7">$sotw</if>
In this case I replaced x with 7.
What I want to do is be able to choose, from the SOTW options in AdminCP, which forums I want it in.

EnIgMa1234

No this is not an admincp function, this allows you to change it via template

I will add a page in admincp for this in the next version.

ok have been using this mod for almost a year now...it works great on my 3.7.2 board...was wondering how would you make it show up in certain forums...saw this on the other sotw mod and trying to configure it with yours...if it can't or won't be able to be done then im sorry but i will have to uninstall after a year of using it and install the other one...this is the script edit for the other one..
If you want to make it display in certain forums, go into the template FORUMDISPLAY
Code:
Find: <if condition="$show['threadslist']">
Add Above: <if condition="$forumid == 1">$hs_sotw</if>
OR if you want it to display in multiple forums...
Code:
<if condition="in_array($forumid, array(1,2,2))">$hs_sotw</if>
1, 2, and 3 being the forumid's, this should work perfectly fine. If you want you can use more than three forums.
i tried changing the $hs_sotw to $sotw...doesn't work...any ideas

hey yeah its possible and pretty easy to do to get it to display in forum display and after that your if code should work
step one in your admincp go to add new plugin,
product = vb area - SOTW Hack
Hook Location = forumdisplay - complete
Title = i called it SOTWinfodis but its upto you
Execution Order = 5
Plugin PHP Code = //Pull info from the database
$query = $vbulletin->db->query_read("SELECT * FROM " . TABLE_PREFIX . "sotw ORDER BY dateline DESC Limit 1");
while($sig = $vbulletin->db->fetch_array($query))
{
$snumber = $sig['id'];
$stitle = $sig['title'];
$threadurl = $sig['thread'];
$votes = $sig['votes'];
$susername = $sig['username'];
$suserid = $sig['userid'];
$imageurl = $sig['image'];
$date = vbdate($vbulletin->options['dateformat'], $sig['dateline']);
$next = $sig['next'];
$prize = $sig['prize'];
$adminrating = $sig['adminrating'];
}
eval('$sotw .= "' . fetch_template('enig_sotw') . '";');
Plugin is Active = yes
and save now you can do what you want with the SOTW in your forumdisplay.php file
hope this helps
if code
<if condition="in_array($forumid, array(88))">$sotw</if>

Most users using this have a SOTW competitions forum. The admin starts a new thread every week/month and users vote from that thread. You then add the entry from the admincp.

You can do it whatever way you choose. It's just a simple case of you adding the winner via admincp once a winner is picked.
