Has anything been developed yet to have a recent threads module that updates itself via Ajax?

I know the VBSpy came out a while back to fill this request but development hasn't been done on it in over a year. So a lot of desired feature requests are going unheard!

Is there anything else out there that acts similarly?

I could see a recent threads module that autobolds and updates with each new post, similar to how pressing Refresh does - being THE most useful module there is! It would prevent a site from having to be refreshed each time someone wants to see updated threads - hence reducing the server load of multiple users continuously refreshing the portal!

I'm surprise no portals have adopted this idea yet, esp. vbAdvanced

I got tired of waiting myself, so I made a tabbed news ajax module. It doesn't do exactly what you want, but when you change tabs, it grabs the latest news for the specific forum without a page refresh via ajax. I've been thinking about releasing it as I have a few people that are interested in it over at the support forum for vbadvance.

Are you serious - NO ONE has came up with this solution yet?

I must be on crazy pills thinking this is probably one of the best ideas possible for CMPS and vBulletin in general!!

Updating similar to the gmail ajax script would be amazingly useful !
