Help with a G5

I got a 1024 MB Ram Stick for my G5 and when I turn it on, nothing loads. It makes 3 beeping sounds and you can hear like it's a vacuum.'

Yea, I order over the phone and my phone is now disconnected (only have cell) so I can't call support.

But yea, people says the RAM is install improper. Dunno, I took out the ram and put the one that came with it, still doing it.

Does it look similar?

First time I changed my ram I was 11, and I blew up computer because I bought wrong kind, and jammed it in their, turned it on, then blew mother board. So my advice, dont try that.

They're the right one if you order from the Apple company it self when they know what computer I have. I have a 1 year warranty, so it's alll cool if they mess it up on their end.

I can always get a new one :)


Rite now I'm using Window Vista Home Basic FTW ;)

I didn't jam it because i have 4 Computers (G4 making the 4th to it's home). We destroy an OLD dell :)

Gateway (Laptop and Desktop)
eMachine
And now the G5

ok, hopefully i can help here.. ;)

the 3 beeps and the vacuum is related to the fact that the computer is not able to deal with the configuration... did you close the whole box before trying to start the computer ? (the red light open when the case is not closed)

It helps to understand on what to get when buying new RAM sticks :)

I'll test it out when I'm done downloading 4 files on my desktop so i can use the plug-ins.
