How to translate hacks?

I'd like to know how to translate hacks in french please.
Do i need a special software or do i have to edit .xml files and php files (when there is some) if it works like that, what do i have to translate and not translate?

You'll have to edit the files it self and put them in french.

tu peux toujours aller sur http://vbulletin-fr.org pour les traductions fran?aises, et demander des traductions aux gens l? bas... tr?s disponibles!
