Hi all,

Last night, Apache crashed on my vbulletin site and was down the whole night. I had to restart it manually when I found out.

Does anyone know of a way through WHM/CPanel to monitor Apache/MySQL and restart if necessary? Ideally, I'd like it to check my site homepage and restart if it doesn't see it load to completion.

Thanks!

normally, WHM will attempt to restart a downed Apache if it fails for any reason. In my experience, the main reason the restart will fail is if the server load is excessively high and Apache will stay in a "failed" state until the load drops back down.

If you have saved your email address under Basic cPanel/WHM Setup >> Server Contact E-Mail Address, WHM by default will send you an automated email warning if you any of the services on your server have failed and you will continue to get these automated messages every 15 - 30 minutes (until the failed services have been bought back online).
