How to exclude a forum from "New Posts"

How do I exclude a specific forum from the "New Posts" listing? I've selected "no" on the following option for the forum, but it doesn't seem to make a difference.

Index New Posts in Search Engine
(Setting this to 'No' will prevent anyone from being able to search in this forum) [yes] or [no]


Is there something else that I need to do?

What that setting does is it keeps users from being able to search through that forum when searching for keywords that they want. It's usually used for non-content sorts of areas. Like if you have a forum specifically for people to test out a new signature or new avatar or such. A user probably doesn't care to search through that so that option that you mentioned will make the search function turn a blind eye to that particular forum.
